Terms of service

Last updated: 22 September 2026

1. Overview

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) govern your access to and use of the IKAT ATELIER website and your purchase of products from us. Throughout these Terms, “IKAT ATELIER,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to the business described below. “You” and “your” refer to any visitor, account holder or customer using the website.

By accessing the website, creating an account, submitting content or placing an order, you agree to these Terms and to the policies referenced in them, including our Privacy Policy, Shipping & Delivery Policy and Returns & Refunds Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.

2. Business Information

IKAT ATELIER is operated by İrem Körpe Özgat, a sole proprietor based in Türkiye.

You may contact us through the Contact Form available on our website. Please do not send returns to any address shown on a parcel, shipping label or invoice unless we have first confirmed the return address to you in writing.

3. Eligibility and Customer Accounts

You must have the legal capacity to enter into a binding contract in your country of residence. If you are under the legal age of majority, you may use the website only with the involvement and permission of a parent or legal guardian.

You may create a customer account where this feature is available. You are responsible for:

  • providing accurate, complete and current information;

  • keeping your login details confidential;

  • all activity carried out through your account; and

  • notifying us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access.

We may suspend or close an account where reasonably necessary because of suspected fraud, unlawful activity, misuse of the website or a material breach of these Terms.

4. Our Products and Handmade Characteristics

All products are made specifically for each individual customer. For each order, the selected fabric is allocated and, where required, individually cut, sewn and finished by hand in our atelier.

Our textiles are handwoven and our products are handcrafted. Pattern placement, motif position, weave, texture, color tone, dimensions and finishing may therefore vary slightly from the photographs or from one item to another. Screen settings and lighting may also affect how colors appear. These natural differences are part of the handmade character of the product and are not defects.

We make reasonable efforts to describe and photograph every product accurately. Measurements are approximate unless expressly stated otherwise. Please review the product description, dimensions, materials and care instructions before ordering.

5. Product Availability and Custom Requests

Products, fabrics and colorways may be available only in limited quantities. Adding an item to a cart does not reserve it.

Custom sizes, personalized products and other special requests are available only if we confirm them in writing. Details agreed in writing for a custom order form part of the order.

We may limit quantities, discontinue a product or update product information at any time. Any change will not affect an order already accepted by us unless the customer agrees or the change is required by law.

6. Prices, Currency, Taxes and Payment

Prices and the currency charged are shown at checkout. Shipping charges, where applicable, will also be displayed before payment.

Import duties, customs charges, local taxes, brokerage fees and similar charges imposed by the destination country are the customer’s responsibility unless checkout expressly states that they are included. These charges are not controlled by IKAT ATELIER.

Payment is processed through third-party payment providers. You agree to provide accurate billing and payment information and confirm that you are authorized to use the selected payment method. We do not guarantee that every payment method will be available in every country.

If an obvious pricing, currency, product-information or system error occurs, we may contact you to confirm the correct details or cancel the affected order and issue a full refund.

7. Orders and Order Acceptance

After you place an order, you may receive an automated acknowledgement. We reserve the right to accept, decline or cancel an order where reasonably necessary.

We may cancel an order, including after payment, if:

  • the selected product or fabric is unavailable;

  • the product cannot be produced as ordered;

  • there is an obvious pricing, currency or technical error;

  • payment cannot be verified;

  • we reasonably suspect fraud or unauthorized payment; or

  • we cannot ship to the destination country or address supplied.

If we cancel an order after payment, we will issue a full refund to the original payment method. We will not charge any additional cancellation fee.

You are responsible for checking that your product selection, size, quantity, personalization details, shipping address and contact information are correct before completing the order. Please contact us immediately through the Contact Form if you notice an error. We cannot guarantee that changes will be possible once production or dispatch preparations have begun.

8. Customer Cancellations

You may request cancellation for a full refund at any time before your order has been dispatched. Because some orders may be produced and dispatched on the same business day, please contact us through the Contact Form as soon as possible.

Once an order has been dispatched, it can no longer be canceled. Any request made after dispatch will be handled under our Returns & Refunds Policy and any mandatory consumer rights that apply.

9. Shipping and Delivery

Production, dispatch, delivery estimates, carriers and customs information are explained in our Shipping & Delivery Policy.

Delivery dates are estimates rather than guarantees. Delays may occur because of customs procedures, carrier disruptions, severe weather, public holidays, incorrect address information or other circumstances outside our reasonable control.

The customer is responsible for providing a complete and accurate delivery address and for responding to the carrier or customs authority when information or payment is requested. Additional costs caused by an incorrect address, refusal of delivery, failure to collect a parcel or failure to complete customs procedures may be charged to the customer to the extent permitted by law.

10. Returns, Defects and Refunds

All products are made specifically for each individual customer. We therefore do not accept returns or exchanges because of a change of mind, personal preference, a natural handmade variation or a difference caused by screen display, except where applicable law requires otherwise.

If an item arrives damaged, is defective or is not the item ordered, please follow the notice and evidence requirements in our Returns & Refunds Policy. We will review the issue and work with you on an appropriate solution, which may include replacement, an agreed alternative or a refund.

No item may be returned without first contacting us through the Contact Form and receiving written return instructions. The applicable conditions, return costs, customs charges, exclusions and refund timing are set out in our Returns & Refunds Policy.

Nothing in these Terms limits any mandatory consumer right that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Reviews, Photographs and Other Customer Content

You may be able to submit a product review, photograph or other content to the website. Content must be based on a genuine experience, must not be misleading, unlawful, offensive or infringing, and must not contain confidential information or malicious code.

You retain ownership of content you submit. By voluntarily submitting a review, photograph or other content, you grant IKAT ATELIER a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable and sublicensable licence to store, reproduce, crop, resize, format, publish, display, distribute and use that content for IKAT ATELIER’s commercial, advertising and promotional purposes. This includes use on our website and product pages, social media, email communications, online and offline advertising, catalogues and other brand materials.

We will not publish or use your name, account name or other identifying label with that content outside the original review display unless you give separate permission. A photograph may still identify a person who appears in it.

By submitting content, you confirm that:

  • you created it or have all rights and permissions needed to submit and license it;

  • every identifiable person shown has agreed to the submission and the uses described above; and

  • our permitted use will not violate another person’s copyright, privacy, image, publicity or other rights.

We may moderate, reject or remove customer content at our discretion, but we are not required to publish or use any submission. Where submitted content identifies a person, it will be handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy, applicable data-protection law and the individual’s applicable legal rights.

12. Intellectual Property

The website and its content—including the IKAT ATELIER name, logo, product designs, photographs, videos, graphics, text, layout and other materials—are owned by or licensed to IKAT ATELIER and are protected by applicable intellectual-property laws.

You may view the website and make copies of order documents for your personal, non-commercial use. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, publish, sell, license, scrape, commercially exploit or create derivative works from any website content without our prior written permission.

No purchase transfers ownership of any IKAT ATELIER intellectual-property right or grants permission to reproduce a product design for commercial purposes.

13. Acceptable Use

You must not use the website:

  • for any unlawful, fraudulent or abusive purpose;

  • to interfere with its security, functionality or availability;

  • to introduce malware or harmful code;

  • to collect another person’s data without authorization;

  • to impersonate another person or misrepresent your identity; or

  • to infringe our rights or the rights of any third party.

We may restrict access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, our customers or our legal rights.

14. Third-Party Services and Links

The website may rely on or link to third-party services, including payment processors, delivery carriers, analytics providers and social-media platforms. Those services may have their own terms and privacy practices. We are not responsible for a third party’s independent website, content or service, except to the extent responsibility cannot legally be excluded.

15. Website Availability and Limitation of Liability

We aim to keep the website accurate, secure and available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free access. We may update, suspend or withdraw website features when reasonably necessary.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, IKAT ATELIER will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, loss of profits, loss of data or loss arising from events outside our reasonable control. Where our liability may lawfully be limited, our total liability relating to a particular order will not exceed the amount paid for that order.

These limitations do not apply to liability that cannot legally be limited or excluded, including liability for fraud, wilful misconduct, gross negligence, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.

16. Privacy

Our collection and use of personal information are explained in our Privacy Policy. By using the website, you acknowledge that personal information will be handled as described in that policy and as required to process orders, provide customer support, prevent fraud and operate the website.

17. Wholesale, Private-Label and Business Orders

Wholesale, private-label, bespoke production and other business-to-business orders may be governed by a separate written quotation, order confirmation or agreement. If that document conflicts with these Terms, the separately agreed written terms will control for that order.

Consumer cancellation and withdrawal rights may not apply to purchases made wholly or mainly for business purposes.

18. Governing Law, Changes and Contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. This choice of law does not remove any mandatory consumer protection available to you under the law of your country of residence. Any dispute will be handled by the courts or consumer authorities that have jurisdiction under applicable law.

If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. A failure or delay in enforcing a right does not waive that right.

We may update these Terms from time to time. The version published on the website will apply from the “Last updated” date shown above. Changes will not retroactively reduce rights relating to an order already placed unless required by law or agreed with you.

For questions about these Terms, please contact us through the Contact Form on our website.
